Hand feeding starlings

The starlings at Portobello are getting very used to being fed. You can now even hand feed some of them and they pose for photos.

Camping

In Cornwall, I was camping next to my parents caravan. I was awake early (I missed my blackout blinds) and spent most mornings sitting in my 'front porch' with a book and flask of tea. Heaven.

I also made a friend, who become rather demanding. We have no idea what type of bird this is but I started feeding her (I am going with her but really no clue) and after that she was outside my tent very morning. If I spent in late, there was hell to pay and a lot of noise. At one point she even invaded my front porch when I was too slow with the food. I think if I had given it another week she may literally have stepped onto my hand.
This only got weird when it was raining one day and I didn't put food out. She got super stroppy.  I was sitting in the caravan and she started literally dive bombing the side of the caravan and banging her beck against the windows until I went out in the rain and fed her. Like I said, very demanding.
But she was cute.

There was also a lot of other wildlife, though none of it was as patient as my little friend when posing. There was a beautiful bird of prey but the picture below is the best I could get. And lots of bunnies, including babies. Frankly I just spent more like watching and laughing at them jumping around than trying to take photos. It was better than TV.

Disney Princess

Apparently since coming to Scotland I have become part Disney princess. The birds seem to want in. Yesterday I heard loud banging from my bedroom. On investigating, there was a young pigeon standing on my window sill, knocking on the window like he wanted to come. I went and grabbed my phone and he had settled on the ledge below the window when I got back. He didn't care when I stood there at the window taking photos. He just shot me glares as if saying, "When are you going to open that window? It's chilly out here."

I went out a hour later and he was still there. He had left but he time I back from my walk on the beach a few hours later, though he did leave some "gifts" on the ledge.
This morning I was woken up by a magpie, squawking and banging on the window to be let in. Not entirely sure what is going on right now.
