Wightwick Manor

We also spent the day at Wighwick in the gardens. I love the house there but it was shut so we wondered around the gardens and had a picnic. Picnics seem to be the key to this summer.

The kitchen garden is great there. I would love to be able to grow veg like that. And they had seem lovely photos. I got some good bug and flower shots. (Dad got me flash gun and is going to teach me macro-photography. So I am practicing.)

Kingston Lacy

In between caravans in Hayling and moving to Weymouth, we had some time so visited Kingston Lacy (thank you National Trust passes). The house is part of the estate of the Bankes family who owned Corfe Castle (which we visited later in the trip). So huge. 

There is no scale but I could stand in this.

Oddly there was an Egyptian exhibit downstairs.

Trelissik and Trerice

The weather was rubbish on Tuesday so we hit some National Trust houses. We headed to Trelissik first but I think the best part of it was the gardens. We didn't feel like seeing them in the rain. The house needed some work. They only took it over recently so have strict it back and you can only go into about 4 rooms.

Still I would not complain if I had this view.

Frankly after about 30 minutes, we were done. Though we did enjoy a very nice coffee and cake break.
So we headed to another one called Trerice, another house and gardens.

They had a really cool display of armour which you could pick up and look at.

The weather improved a little towards to the end and we had a wonder around the gardens. The wild flowers were very pretty, though mom and dad did 'borrow' some seeds. They are trying a wild flower garden out the front at home and are constantly looking for more seeds.

Lanhydrock

Super slow at updating the blog at the moment so really behind. While down Cornwall, on one of the cloudy/rainy/windy days we went to Landyrock, an old National Trust house not far from the caravan. I took a few photos.
