Glow Wild

Last Sunday in the evening (after a lot of lovely sleep) I went to Wakehurst , Kew sister garden for their Christmas festival, Glow Wild. There were a few places to eat and drink at the start (and more marshmallows to roast) but that was mainly for people like me who were there early. There weren't stalls around the walk so it felt less commercial and more relaxed. And they had the largest Christmas I have ever seen.

Greeted by deer.

Lantern lit tree
As part of the ticket you got a lantern on the end of a stick, one per group of four. They were really colourful and pretty and it seemed like a great idea. Until a few minutes later when I realised it was going to eye very difficult to take photos while holding a lantern. So I gave mine to a family with 2 small kids who were already starting to argue about how got to hold the lantern. We were all very happy with this arrangement. :)

Tree over the lanterns
Glow Wild is a lantern lit walk around the gardens.

More reflections

The latter part of the walk was through fire lit trees, very atmospheric and pagan.

Real moon.
Loved these little guys.
Blue bell tree
I didn't realise until I was driving home that the fog had descended. But it made for some dramatic photos, especially in the courtyard which I was lucky enough to get to myself.
