Weymouth

On the last night I cooked at the caravan and we had a great meal and glass of wine.

Mom was more interested in the wine.
I had to leave a day earlier than mom and dad (plus they were headed off on the next stage of their holiday after) so we went into Weymouth for the morning. It is classic seaside village (cute but a little rundown) but there really wasn't much there during the winter. I did like the sandcastle dismay though.
Sand castles.
We took a walk along the pier before finding somewhere for food. The sky was pretty cool though it took me forever to get mom and dad to stop playing around and take a photo.
They keep playing around
Finally got them to stay still
Dramatic sky.

Corfe Castle

One of of the good days we went to Corfe castle which is a ruins near Weymouth. It was destroyed by soldiers during the Civil war in 1646 by Parliamentarians and it must have taken a good deal of fire to bring it down - the walls were incredibly thick. But the original fortification has been there since roughly 1066.

The first time the Parliamentarians tried to take it, the day of the house held them off with a small number of men. They left. The second time they managed to get them out but respected her so much they gave her the keys to the castle on the way out. (Though granted they were pretty useless at this point as it was missing most of its walls.)

Mom just ignores dad.

Giant Naked Man

This HAD to be part of the trip as soon as mom mentioned it. They have no idea why there is a giant picture of a naked man on the hill. It is either ancient or a mockery of Cromwell (so there is a bit of a time time difference). And apparently you can increase your fertility by doing it on his equipment. Obviously.
